Strategies for design, construction and financing against climate disasters

Online- Free – Book now.

According to UNDRR, the past twenty years have witnessed an increased frequency and severity of natural disasters exacerbated by climate change. With their geographic vulnerabilities, developing countries are particularly at risk of catastrophic events such as floods, storms, and earthquakes. Enhancing building resilience is crucial to minimising the effects of these disasters.

This webinar will explore how we can improve building resilience by changing how buildings are designed, constructed, retrofitted, and financed. A short presentation will also highlight the IFC’s Building Resilience Index, a web-based tool designed to help the building sector assess and mitigate applicable risks while improving transparency in disclosing a building’s resilience.

Additionally, the webinar will feature case studies of successful IFC resilience projects and the lessons that can be learnt from them.

This webinar will interest all those who recognise the urgent need to improve building resilience, including stakeholders in construction, development, banking, insurance, and government, as well as investors, landlords, and occupiers.
